Deployment Engineer

Rockstar is recruiting for an early-stage, well-funded company building an agentic AI platform for enterprise accounting. The client's platform automates journal entries, transaction matching, reconciliations, and flux analysis with a full audit trail, while keeping accountants in control of review and approval. The company was founded by leaders who scaled finance at Rubrik, built reconciliation and billing systems behind Netflix, and built AI infrastructure at Meta, and it has raised $41M from Redpoint Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, and Audacious Ventures. Rockstar is partnering with the client to find a Deployment Engineer to help customers get live on the platform.

About the Company

Nobody goes into accounting to spend the first week of every month matching transactions by hand. The company was built so they don't have to. Its agents do the accounting work itself: journal entries, transaction matching, reconciliations, and flux analysis, continuously and with a full audit trail. Accountants review and approve. Nothing posts without a person signing off. It removes the grind, not the human.

Its three co-founders scaled finance at Rubrik from $5M ARR to a $15B NYSE IPO, built the reconciliation and billing systems behind Netflix's $32B in annual revenue, and built AI infrastructure serving two billion monthly users at Meta. The Role

As a Deployment Engineer, the candidate gets customers live. They will sit alongside Account Executives through complex deal cycles, run technical proofs of concept, and then build what each customer needs to launch: integrations to their transaction systems, custom modules, and prompt and model tuning so the AI performs the way their accounting requires. When something breaks in production, they are the one who fixes it.

This is engineering with a customer in the room. Communication matters as much as code.

What the Deployment Engineer Will Do

• Works with Account Executives on complex deal cycles involving multiple stakeholders
• Runs technical proof-of-concept processes and presents tailored demos based on customer and business needs
• Leads technical discovery calls and writes the implementation scoping document for each customer that launches with the company
• Tunes prompts and models to get the right AI performance for each client
• Builds integrations to transaction systems such as revenue, billing, and accounts payable, and the custom modules customers need to go live
• Partners with product and engineering to deliver on customer requests and advocate for customer needs
• Troubleshoots, debugs, fixes, and upgrades software for reliable performance in production, and supports deployed solutions over time
  

What the Company Is Looking For

• 2 or more years in forward deployed engineering, sales engineering, implementation engineering, or solutions engineering
• Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline; computer science preferred but not required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfort working directly with customers
• Proficiency in languages such as Go, TypeScript, or Python
• Experience working with Account Executives on technical sales processes for enterprise customers
• Proactive, highly motivated, and able to handle the intensity and pace of a startup
  

Where and How the Deployment Engineer Will Work

This role is based in the company's downtown Toronto office, near Union Station. The company values in-person collaboration and is in office five days a week for its on-site roles.
